Liz Hollis has been awarded a commendation from The Work Foundation for her feature ‘Money Talks’ published in The Guardian.
The judges, led by Will Hutton, chief executive at The Work Foundation, included David Lloyd, professor of journalism at City University; Richard Donkin, FT Columnist and author; Martin Shankleman, business correspondent for BBC News.
The awards aim to recognise and celebrate journalism in the field of work, management, economics and business and are now in their 22nd year.
The judges said: ‘We were impressed by the thoughtfulness of Liz Hollis’ piece on whistle-blowing, and the pros and cons of using incentives to encourage it, in the Guardian Work section.’
The Work Foundation is an independent research organisation and consultancy. The awards were hosted by Will Hutton, executive vice chair of The Work Foundation. The guest speaker was Lord Currie, chairman of Ofcom, the communications regulator, and the lifetime achievement award went to Guardian columnist Polly Toynbee.
